Our little peanut turned 5 years old on April 30th.  She had a GREAT day!  She has really been looking forward to turning five…there are so many things that she’s going to do when she’s five.  Just ask her and she’ll rattle off a list!  The night before her birthday as I was tucking her in bed she told me, “the sad days are over and the happy days are here!”.

On Easter Sunday I managed to get everyone up and dressed just in time to snap a few pictures before we left.  The kids may have had bedhead and looked a little sleepy but my goodness their outfits were adorable!  After church, we went out to my parents house for lunch.  We ate and then had our third and final egg hunt.  My kids were pros by this time!  Although Uncle Tommy did make them work a little harder for their eggs than they were used to.

On Saturday, the day before Easter, we hosted the Spencer clan for brunch.  We had fun eating and playing with the cousins and then we headed out back for another egg hunt.  There were eggs everywhere!  The kids had so much fun helping each other find their favorite colors.  Quinn got the blue ones and Reagan the pink ones….they are very traditional that way.  Then the cousins all sat out in the sunshine, opening eggs and munching on the goodies.

I’m behind but better late than never, right?  I had almost forgotten about posting Easter pics…my apologies to the three readers who have been waiting to see them! 

First up on the Easter schedule was our church’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.  We played games, decorated cookies, did art projects, played with friends…and then ran around the church grounds screaming like wild banshees searching for candy filled eggs.  Fun for all!  If you’ve never tried to photograph three children at an egg hunt, well you just haven’t lived.  Running in all different directions, refusing to look up at the camera no matter how much Mama pleads….just makes for great photography.  Add in the blinding sun and you’ll see why I got such great shots!

We like to think we’re Irish, and who knows, maybe we are!  We started the day with green milk and pancakes and then made a special dinner for Daddy, Irish beef stew and soda bread.  I have such great memories of our trips to Ireland pre-kids and I’m looking forward to taking them across the pond when they are old enough to appreciate it!

Baby Sloane is one year old!  She had a great time celebrating her birthday.  That baby sure knows how to party!  She didn’t mind watching the other kids open her presents, she was pretty happy to play with the tissue paper and cards.  And she dug right in to her cake and ate so much icing I thought she would make herself sick!

Quinn started out his birthday celebration with a Preds game the night before.  That boy loves him some hockey!  He spent most of the game shouting, “Wets go Pweds!”.  He looked pretty adorable in his little jersey and snowboots, if I do say so myself!  Since it was Daddy’s birthday, we came home from the game and had birthday cake that we had secretly baked that afternoon.  On the morning of Quinn’s birthday, we got the party started early with a candle in his muffin and presents before breakfast.  That evening, before church, we met friends at McDonalds and Quinn got to play with all his buddies.  Then on Saturday we celebrated his third birthday with a Cars themed party.  I can’t believe my baby boy is three years old already!
